Expert-led training for counsellors, psychotherapists and healthcare professionals

With one adult in eight (12.1%) receiving mental health treatment, 10.4% receiving medication and 3% receiving psychological therapy, the need for counselling and psychotherapy in the UK has never been higher.[1]

Over 1 in 3 people aged 16–74 with symptoms of a common mental health problem have received some kind of mental health treatment in the last four years[2]. As such, the need to keep practicing counsellors and psychotherapists informed on new approaches to therapy and new solutions for their clients is paramount.

Licensed psychotherapist Noel McDermott and his team will be attending and exhibiting alongside peers at the Conference and looks forward to networking with world-renowned leaders in the field of psychology and psychotherapy, including illustrious speakers Professor Philip Zimbardo, pioneer of the famous Stanford Prison Experiment, Peter Kinderman, Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Liverpool and Professor Sarah Niblock, Chief Executive of the UK Council for Psychotherapy. Other speakers include Dr Chris Irons, supervisor of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dr Clare Symons, head of research at the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

These experts will lead a day-long training seminar for counsellors, psychotherapists and healthcare professionals in attendance from across the UK. With over 300 delegates, the conference will offer new approaches to understanding mental health, ethical guidelines and best practice for therapy in order to develop new approaches and techniques for practicing clinicians. Presenting revolutionary models for understanding mental illness and treating it in clinical practice, the conference will disseminate the latest research and discoveries in the field of psychotherapy.
